Why visit Grampians National Park?
The Grampians National Park is where you can reconnect with nature and find towering rugged mountain ranges, vibrant wildflowers, diverse outdoor recreational activities, and numerous Aboriginal rock art sites. The viewpoints in the park offer amazing views and several magnificent waterfalls.
Creation of Grampians
The Grampians are a series of sandstone ridges that run north to south, featuring steep rocky slopes on the eastern side. This amazing landscape was formed by the earth’s movements, raising and tilting the sandstone.
The beauty of spring
Visit the Grampians between August and October to see the park’s vibrant wildflowers bloom! The flora and fauna come alive with spectacular collections of Grampian boronia, blue lilies, and other plant species. The park is also home to many wild animals and birds, including kangaroos, koalas, emus and grey eagles.
Aboriginal art & culture
Don’t miss the chance to see ancient Aboriginal rock paintings scattered throughout the park. These drawings testify to the long-standing connection between Aboriginal people and the land. You can find examples of rock art in the following shelters: Billimina Shelter, Gulgurn Manja Shelter and Manja Shelter.
Choose your adventure
Breathe in the fresh air and dive into the park’s atmosphere! Go rock climbing, fishing, and canoeing in Bellfield and Wartuck Lakes waters, or head to one of the many hiking trails for a leisurely stroll or multi-day hike.
