Meet a rhino
Spend an unforgettable moment with a 2-tonne southern white rhino. On this shared journey, you’ll join the keepers who visit the rhino enclosure daily to engage in a communal encounter with Kifaru. This fascinating encounter changes daily: you can join Kifaru to scratch and chat with him, help the keepers feed him, or even treat him to a mud bath!
Become a zookeeper for a day
If you can’t choose just one thing, why not participate in the most exciting experience at Halls Gap Zoo by becoming a zookeeper for a day? You’ll spend the day helping with the day-to-day care of the exhibits, preparing food for the animals and feeding them.
The newest member of the Halls Gap Zoo family
Don’t leave the zoo without visiting the family’s youngest members: the twin golden lions and tamarins. These cute animals are only three months old and the size of a small coffee cup. Males help raise their cubs, often carrying them on their backs between meals. So you’re likely to see them on their father’s back. It’s too adorable to miss!
