Tour Reviews
Marvelous day trip to Great Ocean Road It was a fantastic 1-day tour from Melbourne. A small group of 9 with great tour guide named Kiwi - professional, knowledgeable & respectful
Must go!! Truly an enjoyable experience to go with family and friends! Its a must go when you visit Melbourne 🙂 Also, our guide, Anthony is very friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks!
Great day @Phillip Island It was a great experience, our guide Chris aka kiwi was so friendly and helpful, even helping me to take some pictures. He explained everything with detail. I highly recommend this tour if you’re in the city and want a different experience close to Melbourne.
Must-Do in Melbourne!! Chris “Kiwi” is an amazing guide! This is a must-do when in Melbourne. Safe driving, so knowledgeable, and saw so many animals. Definitely book this!!
Great first trip to Melbourne and the great ocean road. Small group size, which was perfect. Joe, our guide, made a perfect road trip. The trip was well organised, sufficient time was given to visit the sites and Joe explained and provided interesting information along the way. The road back was bumpy, but Joe managed to get us back to Melbourne in time for dinner.
Hot Springs The Hot Springs was a great experience. Anthony was prompt with pick up and drop off from the very start of the tour. He was knowledgeable of Melbourne wildlife as well as history. Highly recommend this tour.
Amazing Experience The trip went smoothly without feeling rushed. We had ample time to explore and Peter’s very knowledgeable & shares interesting facts! Peter helped make the experience an enjoyable one, he’s also lead us during the trails and took photos for everyone. The atmosphere at Lake Mountain, Steavenson Falls & Yarra Valley Chocolaterie was special as it wasn’t too crowded. We practically had the place to ourselves at times - such as the lake mountain trail to the lookout. Best for families, couples & singles - so many activities for all!
Road trip to the penguins! Really enjoyable tour to go and see the penguins on Philip Island. Joel was our tour guide and was really informative and personable with a great mix of facts about the local area but also some time for quiet reflection/viewing the scenery. Plenty of upfront information on when and where we'd stop, the food options and facilities available, and clear notice on when to come back to the bus to head onwards. We loved the koala conservation sanctuary and seeing the Nobbies (and a few bonus penguins there!) before heading onto the penguin parade. Again, clear communication on when to come back to a lovely warm bus and back to Melbourne. Would absolutely recommend, it's been one of the highlights of our holiday.
Well worth a visit The Penguin Parade at Phillip Island was a wonderful experience and one we would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Melbourne. Watching the little penguins emerge from the ocean at sunset and make their way across the beach to their burrows was something we’ll remember for a long time. The whole experience is very well organised, with excellent viewing areas and knowledgeable staff helping visitors appreciate the importance of protecting this unique wildlife. One piece of advice for anyone booking tickets: we chose the VIP Underground Viewing experience, but in hindsight we don’t feel it offered enough extra value over the Premier Viewing tickets. The Premier option provides an excellent view, and we think it offers the best balance of experience and value. If we visited again, we’d happily choose Premier Viewing. Overall, this was a fantastic wildlife experience and a real highlight of our time in Victoria. It’s a must-do if you’re travelling to Melbourne or the surrounding area.
very amazing!! 5 Stars | Amazing Great Ocean Road tour with guide Joe from Autopia Tours We had an absolutely perfect day exploring the Great Ocean Road with Joe as our tour guide, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Joe clearly has a deep passion for sharing the beauty of Australia’s coastline, just like he wrote on his card—you can truly feel how much he loves showing visitors around this stunning land. His driving is extremely steady on all the winding coastal bends, giving our whole group complete safety and comfort throughout the trip. He knows every hidden gem and optimal photography spot: he took us to the best viewpoints for the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge, and even slowed down repeatedly to help us spot wild koalas and kangaroos along the forest roads. Joe shared vivid stories about local shipwreck history, coastal geology and small-town Aussie culture without rushing our schedule. He took thoughtful group photos for all of us, recommended authentic local fish and chips, and was always quick to answer every question we raised. There was zero pushy shopping or rushed stops, the whole day felt relaxed and well-paced. What impressed us most was how genuine and approachable Joe is. He told us we could reach out to him for any travel advice even after the tour, which shows how much he cares about every guest’s travel experience. If you’re booking a small-group Great Ocean Road tour from Melbourne, choose Autopia Tours and ask for Joe—you won’t regret it!
Outstanding Best tour guide ever - Joe , we confused our pick up spot and he still turned back the whole bus for us and picked us up , and gave us an amazing start to our first visit in Melbourne , with all the right amounts of information , warm conversation and most importantly Australian hospitality at its finest . I’ve had my share around with travel but haven’t seen such a professional and wholesome tour guide and experience . ask for Joe if you book this tour, you won’t regret it !
Fantastic tours with JOE I managed to learn so many new and cool things about Melbourne such as places and history all thanks to our wonderful and fantastic four guide JOE 🙂
Trip to 12 Apostles My trip from Melbourne to the 12 Apostles was fantastic. Joel aka Marlin, our driver, tour guide is a wonderful man. He shares lots of interesting personal stories and facts. Thankyou Joel ^^

Amazing introduction to Melbourne Amazing day filled with once in a lifetime scenery and fun facts! Anthony’s passion about Melbourne and all it has to offer is infectious! I greatly appreciate his efforts to make this tour special for everyone.
Excellent River Cruise I went on the Melbourne Highlights River Cruise 2 hour cruise. It was a great tour and provided a lot of good views of the city from the river.
Autopia Tours Melbourne, best tour company ever... Today I had the privilege of seeing the penguins for my second time in 2years. This time I chose to go with Autopia Tours and I'm glad I did. Our driver who unfortunately I cannot remember his name, was totally amazing. His knowledge that he shared was awesome and I feel like I know a lot more about Phillip island and it's history, the animals and especially the penguins. I can definitely recommend Autopia Tours in Melbourne for tours. (I went on the Penguins parade tour on the Friday 29th May 2026. If can find his name from that Autopia Tours, he needs a huge thankyou from me)
Special day at the peninsula hot springs! Very well organized trip! Only 5 people on the van and we left Melbourne on time. We got to stay at the hot springs for 4 hours! What a treat! It was a busy Sunday but no rain and each pool was not crowded. Chris offered insightful commentary about Melbourne during the drive down the peninsula.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Highlight of My Melbourne Trip! This tour completely exceeded my expectations! The itinerary was perfectly balanced—we managed to see so many incredible attractions along the Great Ocean Road, but it never felt rushed. There was always sufficient time to explore each spot and squeeze in some pit stops during the drive. A massive shoutout to our guide, Chris (aka Kiwi)! He was absolutely fantastic all day long—incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and kept everyone entertained and comfortable from start to finish. I’ll definitely be booking another tour with Autopia Tours the next time I'm back in Melbourne. Highly, highly recommend!
A relaxing getaway What a lovely mother's day celebration. My daughter booked this tour as a special treat. Only 1.5 hours from Melbourne. We had a relaxing dip in the hot pools and massage treatment. Kiwi, our driver was wonderful. He shared some history along the way. The ride was comfortable.
Great Ocean Rd Autopia Tours - Great Ocean Rd My friend and I booked a trip with a Autopia tours heading down to the Great Ocean Rd while exploring Melbourne. We had high expectations for this trip and they were absolutely 100% met!!!! Firstly Joe, our tour guide was exceptional! With detailed knowledge of the places we were visiting along the way, paired with a great storytelling personality, made this trip whole. Not only did we get to see these beautiful attractions but we were inspired with true stories and historical events. The trip wouldn’t have been the same without Joe. So thank you!! In addition to the listed attractions we were able to see a couple more lookouts along the way. One perk of being on time at all stops! Below I will attach a few reasons why you should book with Autopia Tours… 🐨🌊
Nice experience Our tour guide Kiwi was so nice. He shared various historical backgrounds of the hot springs and the famous spot in Melbourne. He even prepared a waterproof phone bag bunch to us!
Fun Experience - Long Day - Enjoy if it's your thing! This was a long day, for some fairly brief experiences with koalas and penguins. The tour absolutely delivered all that was promised. We drove some distance out of Melbourne, explored a koala conservation park that hosts about a dozen koalas, stopped on Phillip Island in a community with some restaurant options for dinner, then drove out to the Penguin Parade site. We arrived probably 90 minutes prior to the start of sunset, you were encouraged to find your seat about an hour prior, and then wait until penguins come up. We were there during molting season, so the population was a bit more limited; we definitely were treated to a fun parade. Viewers are allowed to watch for about 40 minutes, and then the lights are shut off so as not to disrupt the penguins any further. We were offered a last minute upgrade (at our own expense) to the premium seating and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that. You get much better seats in a much better location. These sell out way in advance, the weather was crummy, so we were advised that it's rare for them to be available. Then it was a 2 hour ride back into Melbourne. It's a long day (1:30 PM pick up to 11:30 PM return) for 60 minutes at a koala park and 45 minutes of penguin viewing. Definitely a tour to do once, probably would not look to repeat. Tour guide was upbeat, positive, and well organized.
Hot Springs trip I just wanted to share about the wonderful experience I’ve just had at the peninsula hot springs… I’ve done it several times before and never been disappointed, even if it rains, like it did today! The transportation / pick up from Melbourne all ran smoothly. Only about an hours drive. The guide (Chris) was super and even gave us some history on the drive down. He also gave us all the information we needed to enjoy our baths to the max. I recommend 100% Many thanks Sammy Solo traveller
Great ocean Road trip Had a great trip lead by Ben. Great group. Accommodation first night was amazing and the bbq at YHA was really appreciated. The walks and knowledge shared along the road was informative. Got to see koalas, emus and kangaroos. Kiwi drove us back to Melbourne and really enjoyed being able to detour to Ballarat botanical gardens.
Great Ocean Day Tour to & fro Melbourne.. What a wonderful fun packed Great ocean Road day tour it was!!! Me and my cousin had a very pleasant time travelling through the Victorian country and visiting these beautiful sights along the Great ocean road. The highlight of course was the 12 Apostles!! Joe, our guide was extremely easy going and gave us some really good information on the sights that we saw. A highly recommended tour for people visiting Melbourne!
Amazing Autopia Tours! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hubby and I had an absolutely amazing time on this tour from start to finish. Everything was well organised, informative, and enjoyable. Our guide KIWI was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, which truly brought the experience to life. We learned so much while still having plenty of time to relax, explore, and take photos together. The itinerary was perfectly paced, and the highlights exceeded our expectations. It felt personal rather than rushed, and the attention to detail made a big difference. We would highly recommend this tour to any couple or anyone visiting Melbourne, whether it’s your first time or not. It was one of the best parts of our trip and absolutely worth it. We’d do it again in a heartbeat! 💕
